What We Do – Our Occupational Health Services

We’re Fusion, the new name for Santia Occupational Health. And while the name might have changed, our team hasn’t. We’re still in the same location, and we still offer the same workplace healthcare and occupational health services.

We’ve helped businesses of any size from a selection of sectors improve the health and wellbeing of their employees. In case you aren’t aware of what we do, we thought we’d give a breakdown of the different services that we can offer to organisations.

Work Health Assessments

We help identify health problems early on, allowing support to be put in place sooner

Once an individual has accepted the offer of employment at a business, they’ll usually fill in a workplace health assessment. This can help to identify any health problems they might have in the early stages of their employment.

With appropriate adjustments in place to support them, they can carry out their role safely and efficiently. It also ensures that a business is protected in terms of meeting the requirements of relevant legislation.

Absence Management

We help to reduce sickness absence, ensuring that staff can return to work as soon as possible

We understand that absence management is an important aspect of any business. It’s in the best interests of both employers and employees for staff to return to work at the earliest possible opportunity.

Our case managers are trained Occupational Health Advisors (OHA’s). This means that they can manage the majority of referrals. In the few cases where specialist advice is needed, we will pass the case on to one of the 150+ Occupational Health Physicians that we work with.

Counselling and Physiotherapy Services

We can help to improve the mental and physical health of your staff

When it’s appropriate, we can also offer counselling and physiotherapy services. With 20% of all long-term absence caused by stress, the costs to both a business and their staff can be significant. Even if an employee stays in work, they can be affected by tiredness, a lack of concentration and problems with their memory.

As well as counselling that deals with mental health issues, we can also offer physiotherapy sessions for physical health issues. We work with accredited specialists who can offer services beyond those of traditional physiotherapists. With early intervention, we can help to reduce absence from work, restricted working and injury claims.

Health Surveillance

We analyse the needs of staff to establish a comprehensive surveillance programme

When a business needs to implement a system of ongoing health checks for their staff, we can help. Our health surveillance service allows organisations to determine the needs of their employees and will always comply with relevant health and safety legislation.

The needs analysis that is undertaken will be specifically designed for an organisation’s occupational health groups. We’ll then use the outcomes from the analysis to instigate an annual health surveillance programme.

Health & Wellbeing

Our proactive approach can improve the physical and mental wellbeing of your staff

When you improve the health and wellbeing of your staff, you’re likely to see a significant increase in performance and productivity. As such, finding an effective wellbeing solution is becoming more important for businesses. Especially since almost one in seven people have said that they’ve experienced mental health issues while in employment.

We can create bespoke wellbeing campaigns that not only tackle general health issues but also those specific to your business. With the right solution in place, you can provide staff with support and guidance, improve their quality of life and increase productivity.

Drug & Alcohol Testing

We can help you deal with drug and alcohol misuse, encouraging a safer working environment

The use of drugs or alcohol in the workplace is a serious issue facing organisations. The 2014 Global Drug Survey (GDS) found that one in ten people would fail a random drug test, and over 20% of respondents admitted turning up to work coming down from drugs.

As well as both pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, we can also review your current policy or write one from scratch.

This gives a broad idea of the services we can offer, and we’ll be going into more detail about each of them in future blogs. In the meantime, if you want to know more about how we can help your business and the staff who work there, get in touch.
